Search engine optimization judged on calls, not ranking screenshots
Most of what gets sold as SEO is a monthly report showing positions that moved. Positions are how you get the call — they are not the call. We build for the search a customer actually types, and we tell you when a keyword is not worth chasing.
No contract past 90 days · You own every account · No ranking guarantees, ever
$395 to $1,250 per month
- Map Pack — $395/mo: own the map listing
- Growth — $750/mo: + 3 pages a month and the technical work
- Look-First — $1,250/mo: + authority building, full velocity
- All accounts in your name, kept if you ever leave
44 things we actually do
Not a highlight reel. This is the whole list, so you can check whether the thing you care about is on it before you get on a call.
Research and targeting
- Live SERP check on every target term before anything is written
- Search volume and difficulty pulled from a paid database, dated and cited
- Page-type call per keyword — guide page or money page
- Competitor page-by-page teardown for your top ten terms
- De-cannibalisation map so two of your pages never fight each other
- Service and city combinations tested for real volume before a page is built
- Question and long-tail harvest from live autocomplete and related searches
- Keywords we recommend you do not chase, with the reason
The map listing
- Google Business Profile audit — categories, services, service area, hours
- Primary and secondary category selection tested against who currently ranks
- Photo and post cadence set up so the profile does not go stale
- Review request process your team can actually run
- Review responses, including the bad ones
- NAP consistency check across the directories that still matter
- Citation cleanup where the name, address or phone has drifted
- Map pack position tracking by grid point, not a single city-centre number
On the site
- One page per service, per city — not one page trying to do nine jobs
- Title, H1 and slug built on the term the page actually targets
- Meta descriptions written to earn the click, 150–160 characters
- Internal linking so every money page is one click from the homepage
- Canonical handling and duplicate resolution
- Schema: LocalBusiness or ProfessionalService, Service, FAQ, Breadcrumb
- Image compression, dimensions and alt text
- Conversion work on the pages that receive the traffic
Technical
- Crawl and index audit — what Google can reach and what it is ignoring
- Core Web Vitals measured on real page loads, not a lab score
- robots.txt and XML sitemap correctness
- Redirect chains, 404s and orphan pages
- Mobile rendering check on a real handset viewport
- HTTPS, canonical and www/non-www consistency
- Structured data validated against Google’s own testing tool
- Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools set up in your account, verified
Authority
- Backlink profile audit, including any spam the last agency left behind
- Disavow file built and uploaded when the profile warrants it
- Trade association, supplier and chamber listings you actually qualify for
- Local sponsorship and community links that a real person would click
- Linkable assets — data, calculators, guides — built to be cited
- Competitor backlink gap analysis
Reporting
- Call tracking so cost per call is a real number, not an estimate
- Form and click-to-call tracking wired into analytics
- Ranking movement shown next to call volume, on the same chart
- Search Console query data, not just third-party rank estimates
- A monthly note in plain English saying what changed and what we did
- Everything in accounts you own and keep
What the first six months look like
So you know what month one is, rather than finding out after you have signed.
Week one — the read
We pull the live search results for the work you want more of, check your profile, crawl the site and look at who is currently winning. You get the findings whether or not you hire us, including the part where a term is not worth chasing.
Week two — the map listing
The profile comes first, because for most local searches in Birmingham the map sits above every organic result. Categories, services, photos, and a review process your team can run without us.
Weeks three and four — technical and tracking
Crawl issues, speed, schema, and call tracking installed. Tracking goes in before the content, so month one is the baseline you measure everything else against.
Month two onward — the pages
One page per service, per city, in the order the search data says pays first. Written, published, internally linked, and submitted for indexing the day they go live.
Every month — the note
What we shipped, what moved, and what the calls did. In plain English, on one page. If a month was slow, the note says the month was slow.
Quarterly — the honest review
We re-pull the live results and re-check the assumptions. Search changes, and the plan that was right in January is not automatically right in July. If something is not working, we say so and change it.
Showing up in Google's AI answers
For more and more searches, Google now writes an AI answer at the top of the page — and cites a handful of businesses in it. Either yours is one of them, or a competitor is.
Here is the part most agencies will not tell you: Google publishes exactly how this works, and the answer is that there is no separate trick. Google's own documentation says its AI features are "rooted in our core Search ranking and quality systems" — and that you "don't need to create new machine readable files, AI text files, markup, or Markdown" to appear in them. A page just has to be indexed, eligible for a snippet, and good enough to be worth citing. Anyone selling "AI optimization" as a separate magic service is selling smoke.

Eligibility, checked first
A page can only be cited if Google can index it and show a snippet of it. We check the technical gates — crawling, indexing, snippet controls — so nothing on your site quietly disqualifies you.
Pages built to be quoted
AI answers quote pages that answer the question directly, in plain words, with the facts kept current. That is how we build your pages anyway — one job, one town, a straight answer at the top.
Citations, measured
Google Search Console now reports when your pages appear in its generative AI results. That goes in your report next to the phone calls — so AI visibility is a number you can see, not a story we tell you.
This is part of every SEO plan below — not an upsell. Because per Google's own documentation, the work that earns AI citations is the SEO.
Exactly what you get, at every price
Three plans. Each one is a complete job at its scope — the smallest is the map listing done fully, never full SEO done badly. Month to month after the first 90 days.
Map Pack
$395 /mo
Own the map before you spend a dollar on anything else.
One trade, one town, and the phone is the whole business. The map sits above every organic result in Birmingham — this plan fights only that battle, and fights all of it.
-
Your Google Business Profile set up right and kept current — categories, services, photos, monthly posts
A profile Google reads as open, active and legitimate outranks a prettier website every day of the week. Most profiles were set up once in 2019 and abandoned. Yours stops being one of them.
-
A review engine wired into how your crew already closes out jobs
Reviews decide map positions. We build and run the system — your crew just finishes jobs, and the count climbs without anyone having to remember anything.
-
Every review answered — including the ugly one
The next customer reads your reviews before calling. A calm, specific reply to a bad review wins more jobs than ten five-stars nobody responded to.
-
Citation and NAP cleanup across the directories that still matter
When your address on Yelp disagrees with your address on the BBB, Google hedges — and hedging costs you map positions. One consistent identity, everywhere.
-
Call tracking with recording, installed in your account
From day one, every dollar you pay us answers one question: did the phone ring? You can play back the calls yourself.
-
Map-grid rank tracking, street by street
One city-centre number is a vanity metric. You see where you actually rank in Hoover, in Vestavia, in Trussville — because that is where the trucks go.
-
A one-page plain-English note every month
What we did, what moved, what the calls did. If a month was slow, the note says the month was slow. You will never need a meeting to decode a dashboard.
What this plan is not: No new pages, no link building, no content — at this price, nobody honest offers you the sun. It is a narrow job done completely: the map listing, the reviews, the tracking. When the map is won and the next constraint is your website, Growth is the upgrade, and we will tell you when you are there.
Start with the free auditGrowth
$750 /mo
The map, plus a website that finally pulls its weight.
You do more than one kind of job, or serve more than one town, and one tired "Services" page is carrying work that needs nine pages. This is the plan most businesses actually need.
-
Everything in Map Pack — the listing, the reviews, the tracking, the note
The foundation keeps compounding while the site work starts. Nothing gets dropped to make room.
-
3 pages built or rebuilt every month, one job and one town at a time
The homeowner with a burst pipe at midnight and the one pricing a full re-pipe are different customers. Each gets a page written for their search — in the order the demand data says pays first.
-
A live look at the real results page before every single page is written
Google answers some searches with a map and others with an article. We check which — every time — so you never pay for a page built for the wrong door.
-
The technical debt paid down — crawl errors, speed, schema, redirects
Most local sites leak rankings through problems no one can see. We find them with a crawler, fix them, and show you the before and after.
-
Titles, descriptions and internal links tuned across the whole site
The difference between position 8 and position 4 is often housekeeping nobody did. It is not glamorous. It works.
-
A quarterly re-pull of the live results
Search changes. The plan that was right in January gets re-checked in April — and if something stopped being worth chasing, you hear it from us first.
Look-First
$1,250 /mo
The full method — for the market you intend to own.
Competitive trades and high-value work: a market where page one is contested and one new customer pays for months of this. This is everything we know how to do, on a schedule.
-
Everything in Growth, at double the page velocity — 6 pages a month
Coverage compounds. Every service, every suburb worth having, each with its own page, built in the order the search data ranks them.
-
Authority building — local links, trade associations, sponsorships, suppliers
Links a real person in Birmingham would actually click. This is the work that separates page one from page two in a contested market, and the work most agencies quietly farm out to a link farm. We do not.
-
One linkable asset per quarter — original data, a calculator, a cost guide
The pricing content your competitors are too nervous to publish is the content that earns links without buying them — and the calls without begging for them.
-
A quarterly competitor teardown, page by page
Who moved, what they built, what gap it opened. You see your market the way we see it — which is also how Google sees it.
-
Same-week turnaround on changes and priority scheduling
When a storm hits and the roofing market moves, the plan moves that week — not at the next monthly check-in.
First five Birmingham businesses: 25% off any plan for your first 90 days.
We are new in town and we would rather prove it than promise it. The trade is simple: you get the discount, and once the work has earned it, we ask for an honest Google review and permission to publish your numbers as a case study. When the five spots are gone, they are gone.
Claim a founding spotNot sure which fits? That is what the free audit decides. We look first, then recommend a plan — and if the honest answer is the smaller one, that is the one you will hear.
More specific than "Search Engine Optimization"
Most businesses need one or two of these, not all of them. Each one says who it is for so you can rule it out quickly.
Local SEO
The map pack, the profile, reviews and citations. For a service business in Birmingham this is usually where the calls actually come from, and it moves faster than organic.
Right for you if: Service-area businesses, contractors, clinics, anyone who takes calls from a specific radius.
Multi-location SEO
A page and a profile per location, built so they do not cannibalise each other, with a review process that runs at every branch instead of only at head office.
Right for you if: Two or more physical locations, or one business covering several distinct cities.
Technical SEO and site audits
A crawl, an index check, Core Web Vitals on real loads, schema validation and a prioritised fix list. Not a 200-item PDF where 190 items change nothing.
Right for you if: Traffic dropped and nobody can say why, or you are about to migrate or redesign.
Backlink cleanup and disavow
Auditing what a previous agency or a Fiverr package left behind, and filing a disavow when the profile warrants it. Spam links are common on sites that once bought cheap SEO.
Right for you if: You bought links at some point, or inherited a domain with a history you cannot account for.
Website builds for search
A site built on the page structure the search data calls for, rather than a design that gets retrofitted for SEO afterwards. Fast, crawlable, and yours.
Right for you if: The current site is slow, thin, or built on a platform you cannot get out of.
Keyword and market research on its own
The research without the retainer. Live SERP checks, volumes with sources, page-type calls and a page map you can hand to anyone — including another agency.
Right for you if: You want to know whether the opportunity is real before you commit to a monthly spend.
Eight questions to ask every agency you talk to
Including us. If an answer here does not match what you get on a call with someone else, that is the useful part of this page.
Show me the live search results for three terms you would target.
Google answers some queries with an article and others with a map of local businesses. Those need completely different pages. Anyone who has looked will have the screenshots.
Bad answer: A keyword list with volume and difficulty columns and no screenshots of the actual results page.
What is the monthly search volume for my main term, and where did that number come from?
Volume comes from a paid database and should be quotable with a date and a source. It is a fact, not an opinion.
Bad answer: "Thousands of people are searching for this every month."
Who owns the website, the domain, the Google Business Profile and the analytics?
If the agency owns any of them, leaving costs you everything you built. It should all be in your name from day one.
Bad answer: Anything vague about "our platform" or "our hosting".
Do you guarantee rankings?
Google does not sell placement in organic results, so nobody can guarantee a position. The correct answer is no.
Bad answer: Yes, in any form, including "guaranteed page one" and "guaranteed traffic".
What is the minimum contract, and what happens in month one if I cancel?
SEO is slow, so long terms are defensible — but the term should be stated up front, not buried.
Bad answer: A twelve-month auto-renew you find out about at signature.
How will I know it worked?
The measure is calls, forms and booked jobs. Rankings and traffic are how you get there, not the point.
Bad answer: A monthly PDF of ranking positions with no call tracking attached.
Which of my competitors do you already work with?
An agency running three plumbers in one city is competing against itself with your money.
Bad answer: Refusing to answer.
What would you tell me not to spend money on?
Every real assessment finds something not worth chasing. An agency that finds nothing is selling, not assessing.
Bad answer: Everything is an opportunity.
The part nobody puts on the page
We cannot guarantee a position, and nobody can. Google does not sell placement in organic results. Any agency that guarantees you number one is either redefining the word or counting on you not checking.
What people search to find this
Pulled from a paid keyword database, dated and sourced. You can check any of it.
